The Liliane Bettencourt Prize for the Intelligence of the Hand 2017 was a very special occasion this year, marking the 100th laureate of the prize since its creation and the recent passing of Liliane Bettencourt.

This year, the prize was awarded to woodworker Steven Leprizé, with the Dialogues prize going to David de Gourcuff, Aki and Arnaud Cooren and the Parcours prize to the Maison de l’outil et de la pensée ouvrière (MOPO) in Troyes.

The Fondation Bettencourt’s annual ceremony rewarding excellence in French artistic crafts started with a moving tribute from Françoise Bettencourt Meyers to her mother Liliane, who passed away this September.
